The Nielson Honey Farm Texas family believes that honey produced in Texas is the finest around. Blessed with 2x Award-Winning Honey, the mild and uncomplicated sweetness of our Raw Unfiltered honey reflects the fresh air and rural environs where the hives are located throughout Texas. We strive to bring this honey from the hives to homes for the enjoyment of our customers. Bee Happy, Bee Safe

Nielson Honey Farm Texas, LLC is a family beekeeping business using best practice methods to produce the best Raw Unfiltered honey and Raw Unfiltered beeswax products.

We manage over 100 hives and continue to mentor all ages—we loved mentoring 3 scholarship students. As we embrace this and actively encourage involvement, seeing thousands of bees working together, in and out of the hive, is magical to kids and to us.

We like to show those we are mentoring the queen and explain how bees make honey—all of this is a new and fascinating world to a young and older mind. As kids grow older, their ability to explore the scope and value of bees expands too. What starts out as a brief encounter with a mysterious box in a garden or field can often translate into a life-long appreciation and involvement with science and nature.

We are actively involved with Hives for Heroes - Save Bees, Save Vets - a national non-profit military Veteran service organization focusing on honey bee conservation and a healthy transition from service. This venture is dear and close to our hearts. Veterans mentoring Veterans! "Because every Hero deserves a new mission and every community needs its Heroes. And every hive reminds us that life is stronger when we work together.”

Our Legacy

What started out as a simple agriculture exemption has turned into a business that is growing to meet current and future demand for locally produced, 100% Pure Raw Unfiltered Texas Honey, covering a 120-mile + radius of Chico, TX and continuously growing. The production of honey is itself another lesson all wrapped up for delivery! We have carefully crafted a "Miracle" Lotion Bar—a non-greasy lotion bar that absorbs well without leaving an oily residue with raw beeswax, a little goes a long way!

Our beekeeping journey began in 2016 with a simple goal of obtaining an agriculture exemption. What started with three packages of bees quickly turned into a pasion. Together, we helped transform a small beekeeper gathering in Bridgeport into the Wise Texas Bee Club, where Jim servied as Vice President, President, and Treasurer. Sheri served as Secretary and Treasurer.

From TBA Journal by Vickie Watt: Jim excelled as a mentor, encouraging new beekeepers and supportng a scholarship program for youth. Jim's commitment to quality and integrity led him to join Real Texas Honey in 2019, and he proudly served as Vice Chairman in 2025. Jim and Sheri built Nielson Honey Farm Texas, LLC into a respected veteran-owned operation producing exceptial raw, unfiltered honey.

One of Jim's greatest joys was chasing the Texas nectar flow - migrating across more than half the state to produce the purest, most flavorful honey possible. His hard work earned a well-deserved recognition when Nielson Honey Farm Texas won both the Judges' choice and People's Choice awards in the Black Jar contest.

Service was at the heart of who Jim was. Through Hives for Heroes, he supported veterans and first responders, living out the mission "Save Bees - Save Vets" with passion and sincerity. His work connected individuals with purpose, healing and community.

Jim made lifelong friendships across Texas, the nation, and even internationally. His integrity, humor, and willingness to help left a lasting impact on everyone he met. While he is deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the countless beekeepers he inspired and the thriving honey operation he helped build.

As Sheri shared: "I will continue our dream and carry on his legacy of beekeeping."

From the Real Texas Honey program, we honor Jim's life, his service, and his dedication to Texas beekeeping. His legacy will contiue to shape our commiinity for years to come.
